Yeah, the stick is glued… but look at this eye!!
The stick is spalted ash with no dye. Ash is naturally porous. Like stick 19, which is purple, stick 17 has knots that look like eyes with pupils. The completed stick will feature natural pink and black pigments left by the fungi that worked over the wood before I stabilized it.
This stick will be finished without any colors being added. It promises wide swaths of pale white/yellow, hued with natural pink, with black streaks here and there, and eyeballs.
Some of the eyes look quite… expressive.
