A note about prices:

Some of the cues on this page were sold under different pricing schedules. (See the current schedule on the bottom of this page.) Since I started in 2022, I have increased the prices on stabilized wood butts, purple heart and carbon fiber shafts, and lowered prices on burl.

The price shown can reflect either the price of the butt alone or a package deal. Sometimes folks buy extensions or shafts after the original purchase of the butt, so the image shows more items than the price.

Most of my cues are bought while hanging. (See available butts on the Hanging tab.) That’s why it’s rare for me to have a cue on the Ready to Ship tab, and why the images below sometimes show cues in various states of completion. Many of the cues that have finishes were bought while hanging, and I updated the images after finishing.

If you’re looking to buy a butt from the Hanging tab and add a shaft or extension, reach out to me at Clayton@CharacterCues.com, and I’ll update the listing for your butt to include the other items. One payment plan is easier to manage than 3 for most folks.

Also: every cue is an original and impossible to duplicate. But if you see one that you’d like me to reproduce with different colors/species, email me with the cue name and number, and how you’d like to see it, and I’ll let you know if I have the materials and the cost and timeframe to build it for you. I’m not taking custom build orders (they increase the build time by a factor of 5), but I’d be happy to build one to look similar to one I’ve already done.

  • Spalted wood is lower price tier; I harvest, process, and stabilize local spalted hardwoods
  • Burl is higher tier due to scarcity and added complexity of the build.
  • Live edge is higher tier due to time involved/complexity of the build.
