Your Character Cue isn’t just a pool cue—

It’s a one-of-a-kind piece with its own name, story, and soul, built from Pennsylvania hardwoods that God and nature shaped together. If you own one, you already know the feeling: that perfect balance in your hand, the way it turns heads at the table, and the quiet pride that comes with swinging something no one on earth can replicate.

But before you were an owner you were a buyer facing an unknown experience. What did you want to know? What concerns weighed on your decision? That’s what folks want to read. Tell the story. Drop a few lines about your experience with me, Clayton; tell us how your cue hits, how she looks under the lights, the reactions you get, concerns you had going in, and how they turned out. Your words and photos become part of the legacy—helping the next player find their match while letting the rest of us celebrate what you’ve got.

I keep it real here, just like the cues themselves. No pressure, no fluff. Snap a picture of your stick in action or resting in the rack, share what surprised you most about the hit or the grain, and let other players see the beating heart of every numbered build. Whether you’ve been shooting for fifty years or you’re still discovering what a true custom feels like, your review matters. It’s how I keep building better and bolder, one honest take at a time. Join the crew in the Facebook group too—plenty of owners post videos and shots there. Quite a few with a trophy and a Character Cue side by side on a pool table.

Looking at these reviews and wondering if a Character Cue is right for you?

That pull you’re feeling is the same one that turns first-time buyers into lifelong owners. These aren’t mass-produced sticks—they’re handcrafted, slow-dried, full-core creations that play as good as they look. Players who’ve run with everything from import cues to big-name customs keep coming back because nothing else delivers this mix of beauty, performance, and personal connection. Browse the reviews, check the group for real-world hits and photos, then pick the one that speaks to you. Lifetime warranty, straightforward returns (none have been returned. Ever), and a builder who stands behind every detail—there’s no better way to level up your game and own something truly yours.

To provide a review, please visit your cue’s product page and scroll toward the bottom for the review entry field. You must be logged in. If you do not see your cue listed under your account for review, please reach out to me at clayton@charactercues.com, and I will correct the matter.

Friends, also please note this review page was launched 4/24/26, and while I prize reviews, I have a strict policy: Love One Another.

I prize honest feedback, but I refuse to chase reviews because I don’t like being chased. So I do not do email blasts, I do not compensate for reviews, and I do not ask reviewers to mention things or script their comments in any way. In a world full of manufactured “truth,” I’d rather earn your words and stars the old-fashioned way—by building cues that live up to the promise and standing behind them for life.

I’ll make sure the cue you receive is the one you dreamed of, and I’ll be here for you as long as I live to keep it that way.

Beautiful cue, the only thing more amazing is the action of the cue, unbelievable, never disappointed with Clayton work

What a cue this is. It’s a shame the review rating scale only goes to 5 stars!

I ordered the butt only from Clayton and he was patient and professional from the get go. He worked with me to get the pin and weight such that it is slightly forward weighted.

Now for the amazing part. Clayton’s finishing of the joint facing has resulted in a 100% match for my main playing shafts, Jacoby KW and a Triple 60 TS1. This is by far my favourite of all my custom cues, and I will be watching the “Hanging” page for my next one.

Keep up the excellent work Clayton!

I was a bar player 25 years ago. Pretty good and getting better…never played any tournaments or anything like that. My wife and I had my first child and then a second and life as it often does.

I picked up a cue again after the kids grew up in Feb 2025. I had a Cuetec back in the day that I liked. One thing I do like is something unique. I do not like seeing my cue everywhere.

The search for my perfect cue started and that’s when I found Character Cue’s and Clayton. I trolled his page for a few months until he posted LE153. I was drawn to it at first glance. I purchased the butt and later on added a matching extension and then the Burchowdy Shaft V4. Choose your pin and your target weight, shaft diameter…truly a custom build.

The wait wasn’t easy but well worth it. Near the completion you get updates with pictures and videos adding to the excitement.

The hickory core gives a solid hit. Matched with the Burchowdy shaft it feels like your stroke hand is directly connected to the tip. Everyone just loves the look and once they play with it they love the feel as well.

The Burchowdy shaft is amazing. The stiffness of Carbon with the superior feel of of a wooden shaft. I was a bit unsure at first as I didn’t really have a problem with the Lucasi Pinnacle carbon shaft I had. That passed quickly as the Burchowdy showed me what it could offer. After a month or so of getting used to her, my play has certainly improved.

Clayton makes a solid cue that is as unique as the player. Plays as beautiful as it looks. I get tons of comments from other players as it certainly attracts attention.

This is my first Character Cue….it will not be my last! Thank you Clayton for all your hard work!
