Step to the table with a howitzer in hand, chamber packed with hickory and purple heart blasting powder.

I can’t guarantee you’ll sink balls on every break. But you’ll damn sure walk away from the table like you own it — and the thunderboom that starts the rack will let your opponent know you already kicked his ass inside, where it matters, and the rest is just stepping through history already written. 

 

Butt: 30″ shagbark hickory with butt sleeve of spalted/stabilized oak. It’s purple. Hence the name POAK!

Shaft: 30″ purple heart, tiger maple ring

Ferrule: Juma; 12.54 mm

Tip: Triangle (hardness rating 91 hard)

Jump Handle: Hickory core; Spalted/stabilized oak rings

Pin: Brass Radial/American Ball

Hello, I’m Clayton Lindemuth, the grit lit author responsible for the Baer Creighton series and more. I started building cues as a way to keep the creative engines going while waiting on the muse to strike, and now I spend almost all my time in the shop. I focus on spalted, live edge, and burl cues that I build from hardwoods I harvest, process, and stabilize myself, drawn from the woods around me in Hormtown, Pa.

I use cue building processes learned from masters of the industry. Video courses, books, mentors, and forever testing new methods.
