Purple Object Ball Eater will finish today
The stick as shown has a coat of wax that was once-buffed. It’ll get a buff and another coat today, plus some work (already completed) at the joint. The shaft has no ferrule or tip yet. It all comes together today and stick 1 will be ready to pack delicately and ship to Arizona. I’ll […]
New Taper Shaper in action
While working the finishes of my first three sticks, I’ve learned how to get this time saver running… The fuzz on the left end is a piece of tack cloth, which I’m using to create enough friction to spin the stick against the 60 degree pin. I used a 60 degree center finder on the […]
Carribean Stick Update
Gonna add more CA and take it to high grit today, then tidy the ends tomorrow and wax. Meanwhile I’m working on the shafts. Will probably add updates. buffed to 2500 grit
Purple Object Ball Eater Butt Done
I bet some social media censors go zoinks over that title. Anyhow! Look Ma! Look what I did!
Purple Object Ball Eater
Almost done. Sooooooo close. First video from earlier this afternoon. I’ve learned a lot of refinements to my process while building this stick. I’m polishing now, at 5000 grit. It’s looking good. Likely be back tonight with another video. With a layer of wax and a buff. I’ll add wax, let it harden and buff […]
Purple Object Ball Eater
Buffed to 3000 (grit). Nice shine, but we’re shooting for out of this world shine. I’ll buffed to 10000 grit before waxing.
Morning Update: 8/31
Dennis’s Stick: Almost there. The butt is 99% finished. I’m letting the wax firm up before buffing out. The shaft is complete, but an experiment I haven’t revealed will either look awesome or I’ll do another shaft. Purple Object Ball Eater: This is where Dennis’ stick was yesterday. The finish is substantial. It’s built up […]
Morning Update 8/30
Custom sticks near completion. Sometimes farting around the shop, tinkering, experimenting, I’ll do something the wrong way just to see what happens. Sometime if I get the time I’ll tell you about how epoxy stays wet underneath while curing, even when the outside is hard. Fast forward to… That’s why the finishing process takes a […]
Carribean Stick and Purple Object Ball Eater updates
I don’t like kicking myself in the behind but to be honest, every now and then it happens, and I turn around and I see I was right to do it, so I don’t say anything else about it. 😉 I redid the joint ends on all my sticks in progress. My initial plan for […]
