A word about shafts:

I build shafts out of ten species and carbon fiber. My advice is this: if you have a shaft you love to use, buy this butt to match that shaft. If you’ve heard of a famous shaft that you’d like to try, buy that shaft to match this butt.

However, if you’re into the art of it and want to have fun, try something new, and make your Character Cue fully badass, consider one of my ten species or carbon fiber with a like-wood decorative ring.

Hello, I’m Clayton Lindemuth, the grit lit author responsible for the Baer Creighton series and more. I started building cues as a way to keep the creative engines going while waiting on the muse to strike, and now I spend almost all my time in the shop. I focus on spalted, live edge, and burl cues that I build from hardwoods I harvest, process, and stabilize myself, drawn from the woods around me in Hormtown, Pa.

I use cue building processes learned from masters of the industry. Video courses, books, mentors, and forever testing new methods. Learn about my building process from my YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe.

    Well on my 3rd Character Cues purchase, after shooting with my BurcHowdy Torrefied Prototype I am hooked, love the corresponding during the process of building my 3 one of a kind Cues, I really appreciate the time and quality of my cues , Bag Limit is probably my favorite at this time, the live edge is so unique, but more than a of this I feel like I have a new friend in Clayton Lindemuth it not like dealing with a corporation who is just out to sell all the look alike cues they can. Clayton really takes pride in his cues and really cares about what you want. I call that a friend. Going to include a video of Bag Limit when I unboxed it.

I’m Clayton Lindemuth, gritlit author and cue builder. My Character Cues are crafted from spalted Pennsylvania hardwoods, live edge, and burl from the woods around me. I process and stabilize, slow dry, and build cues the old school way. Not in a hurry. Ain’t setting records. Work day and night and build less than 50 a year.

Cuemaking is my divine charge and my goal is always to showcase God’s creativity and way. I’m proud of these sticks not because of my part, but because their beauty is palpable — it baffles me.
