Stick H002: I Like Her Knees
Quick ViewAuction EndedTerrific, I love it, just got home and already packed my McDermott break cue away. Even the house pro said it hits really well. He actually liked it over his…. But seriously I love it. Even not getting to use it as often as I typically would. House Pro is really good. — Douglas Michel
I started making solid hickory break cues because the wood is hard enough to dull your equipment fast. Hard wood means hard hits. That’s good for breaking. The quote above is from Doug, who bought and just tested JFW (just wow), my first hickory break cue.
Hickory breaks. It just makes sense.
But when I was testing my first hickory break butt I decided to see how she handled a birch shaft with a 12mm Royal Oak tip — what I usually play with.
Omigooness!
Comes with shotgun shell joint protector and tip installed. 1 oz weight bolt optional.
If you win the auction for I LIKE HER KNEES and would also like to use her for regular play, for another $200 add a birch or other species shaft, and for $100 add a hickory jump handle to pair with your hickory shaft. Then you’re prepared.

XXX
This just in! Accomplice in blue and pink miniskirt with blonde waves everywhere has been identified as Tootsie Malone, aka TOOTS. Clint is now the first cue in Character Cues history to have a named shaft.
Joint protectors still on the lam. More news as it becomes available.

Witnesses report seeing JPs in getaway vehicles after a surprise escape from an ATF raid. JPs are suspected of being in possession of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms.
XXX
JPs spotted sitting handsomely atop Clint and Toots out on the town. They remain officially perceived to be Bonny-and-Clyde-dangerous. Clinging to their guns and Bibles. Use caution and always know your exit!

Stick 70 Politics for $1,000
Quick View$1,075.00
Spalted/Stabilized Maple with Black Cherry Burl BUTT with JOINT PROTECTOR: $1075
I’ve come to think of black cherry burl as the jewel of the forest. I prize it especially for the richness of the colors, sharp contrasts and variety of wild grain patterns. Everything from dotted lines to amoeba shapes in ruby, black, brown, and white. Of course with burl, extraordinary colors and patterns aren’t the whole show. You also get that classic chatoyance — the shimmering illusion of depth created by light reflecting in different directions throughout the wavy grain.
The spalted/stabilized maple forearm is a showcase of black fungal squiggles and gentle shading that relieves the eye, so the gestalt of the cue is something akin to ordered yet frenetic beauty.
A cue that won’t let hold of the eye.
Clayton Recommends: Pair with a carbon fiber or birch shaft (of course with a black cherry burl ring) for exceptional control and balance. And get a matching burl joint protector as my gift to you. Butt can be modified at no cost to accept an extension if the extension is added to the order.
Woods Used: Black cherry burl, maple
Full Core: hickory
Butt Length: 29 9/16″ including bumper
Butt Weight: 13.7 oz. (drilled and tapped to add up to 1.5 additional ounces. Shafts are usually 3 – 5.5 oz depending on species.)
Pin: 3/8-10 mod, brass
Collar: .84″ black phenolic
Butt Diameter: 1.22″
A word about shafts:
I build shafts out of ten species and carbon fiber. My advice is this: if you have a shaft you love to use, buy this butt to match that shaft. If you’ve heard of a famous shaft that you’d like to try, buy that shaft to match this butt.
However, if you’re into the art of it and want to have fun, try something new, and make your Character Cue fully badass, consider one of my ten species or carbon fiber with a like-wood decorative ring.
